Q. Hey everyone it’s ya boy Darren Southern Plug Brown, here with a mega Southern Plug Exclusive. Introducing to some, Keke DaMenace. So, tell our readers that may not be familiar with you or your work just who you are and what it is that you do exactly.
A. Keke DaMenace. The hardest female rapper from NY and coming out of SC.
Q. So, what inspired you to start your journey as a rapper?
A. As a little girl growing up in New York, my family would always have these rap Cypher’s. In the mist of the cipher, they would push me in the middle and encourage me to spit and as young as two why doesn’t encourage me to spit at as young as 4. When getting in the middle of the circle, I would feel like the whole world would stop for me, and I would feel completely at peace the feeling that it gave me let me know that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.
Q. How and when did you coin the stage name KeKe Damenace and how do you feel that title fits you?
A. When I first decided to start taking my career serious and 2021, I debuted my first song “448” after showing it to a few friends and family members. One of my closest friends, had made a statement and said. “Keke you’re a menace on the track.” at the time I had decided to go by the name Keke DaOne. But it seems as though the gruffness of my voice and severity of my word play in my music I took over and I became the menace to my fans before I knew it. I’ve been change my name on all platforms and let Keke DaMenace be the one!
Q. Do you have any upcoming projects or announcements to make?
A. My first album titled “child’s play” will be releasing at the end of July. It will feature fan favorites, such as hot boii , popping my shii , new Carolina, and more. I will also be including a surprise track with a featured artist
will.
Q. What would you say is the quote on quote secret recipe for your success?
A. Unity, perseverance, consistency, and faith have Carried me so far with in my career. You also have to be very strong minded in this industry because when you are putting yourself across the Internet for millions of people to see, everyone will have their own opinion, you have to be strong when you’re making this part of yourself vulnerable and believe in yourself, even when you feel like nobody else
Q. What was your favorite part about what your life as a rapper?
A. My favorite part about what I do honestly has to be traveling and meeting new people. There is so much talent and support and pure souls to me in the world and thankfully the career I chose allows me to come across with these people who seem to be one in a few. Also the love I receive when I am on and off the stage. Can’t compare to no Other I truly feel like a superstar.
Q. What's next for you? Any new ventures you want to spill the tea on?
A. My next step would be to venture further out in the country, and make bigger connections with people further away from home this way, I can start to expand my Fanbase if you are looking for me, you can catch me out in Charlotte. I will be booking shows in New York and also seeing about artists, Florida, Texas, and other places across the country.
Q. Is there something in specific that you want people to know about you or your art?
A. Iam a rough and tumble Artist. My music is not only hard-core rap however, it also focuses on my wordplay metaphors, and the overall lyricism I have. You can listen to my music a bunch of times, and there are still some bars that you’ll miss. that’s the best part about my art. I have so much playback quality.
